HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO US!

How fast has the last year gone?! We can't believe on this day 12 months ago we opened the doors to Church for the first time on a scorching July day.

Seeing as it's our birthday we thought we'd reflect on some highlights of our adventure so far...

We opened in the midst of the hottest summer in years and not only that, the country was full of hope that England could indeed bring it home.

A couple of weeks in we hosted our first The Fringe At Tramlines event which saw a host of local talent take to our stage from Off Me Nut DJs to Katie Pham and the Moonbaths to Liberty Ship. Saturday night we hosted Toddla T's Steezey Wonderland which was even attended by Sheffield's Major Magid and Annie Mac did a surprise opening slot.

Over the last year we have teamed up with Game Over for a handful of events filled with free play gaming consoles from across the last couple of decades, tournaments and live art.

October saw our in-house Tattoo Parlour - Purgatory Tattoo open with resident artist Craven and a number of guest spots too (click here for booking information).

Our first Christmas at Church quickly came around, so we decked out the bar with a trio of upside down suspended trees (complete with naughty angels) and Make No Bones served up an absolute feast of a Christmas Party Buffet.

We launched our Movie Club with The Exorcist at Halloween and the monthly events continue to grow. At Valentines we hosted an immersive screening of Romeo & Juliet with a themed drinks menu, which has definitely set the bar for our future screenings. Check out our events page or Facebook for all upcoming events at Church.

Thanks to all the bands that came down over the past year for some amazing performances and signings, we've hosted album releases, intimate acoustic shows and local Sheffield talent. Stay tuned for plenty more where that came from.

TV's Dirty Vegan swung by for a Q&A a couple of months back and University students have held an art show. We can't wait to see what other events are in store for us, if you want to chat to us about using us a venue please reach out via the contact page, we would be happy to discuss further.

Famed Sheffield eatery Make No Bones have been part of our family since day 1 and have served up delicious vegan grub every day with some killer specials in between too.

Our regular visitors will have no doubt seen many changes and improvements to Church in this first year and we can't wait for you all to see what we have planned here for the future. Stay tuned and thanks for being part of our adventure so far!
